Mary moved to Edmonton in
1951, where she continued to pursue her interest in art. A basic
watercolor course with Sr. S Glyde and two years of oil painting
courses through "Continuing Education" with Mr, John Hannley
began her serious interest in Art.
Her favored medium is oil, but Mary also loves the challenge of
acrylics, oil pastels and watercolors. Her realistic paintings of
Alberta scenery, animals, wildlife, and flowers captivate the drama
in her paintings.
"Painting and sketching has always been my favorite hobby.
It gives me great pleasure to create something, and to express myself.
I love the challenge of working with vivid colors in any medium.
I have done a lot of work in oil pastels recently and find it very
rewarding as a medium". |
