Biography:
Mohamed hails from Uganda, Africa. He spent most of his childhood years in neighboring Kenya where he developed a love of the outdoors and particularly an appreciation of the natural world. In 1974, his growing fascination with nature compelled him to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Africaʼs highest peak
.
After moving to Edmonton in 1978, Mohamed developed an interest in painting as a way to manifest the images and colours of his childhood.

Although Mohamed paints in oils as well, he prefers to tackle the difficult medium of watercolour for its luminosity, spontaneity, and freshness; Moreover, he thrives on the challenge it poses.

He values scrutiny of his artwork by his wife, who is his most fervent supporter and his children, who are his harshest critics.
His paintings are on display at the Alberta Legislature, Edmonton City Hall, and several homes and businesses in Africa, Europe, UK , USA and Canada.
Mohamed is an associate member of the Society Of Western Canadian Artists, and an active member of The Edmonton Art Club. At these gatherings, he has met and befriended many gifted and selfless artists who have helped and nurtured him in his artistic endeavors.

Mohamed frequently participates in solo and juried shows.

Artist's Statement:
Perfection is an attribute exclusive to God. Pursuit of perfection is however a human endeavor. With my paintings, I strive to achieve that goal by transporting the viewer into the scene of my painting so they experience the scent of my florals, hear the rustling of the leaves in my landscapes, feel the chill in my snowscapes and hear the crashing of
the waves in my seascapes.

My Vision:
Poetry in every home, Art on every wall.
